Carrie Bradshaw isn't real.

Carrie Bradshaw may not be real. But I want her to be.

Finally, after hearing what felt like every one of my friends lust after Sex and the City I found myself watching episode 1, season 1. It seemed like in the blink of an eye I was already on season 3. It was that good. I binge watched half of the entire television series within a week.

I think what was most compelling to me wasn't even the funny storylines and cast, but the personas of Carrie Bradshaw and her three best friends, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. 4 inseparable girls who had decided to become each others soul mates, have fun with guys and focus on their career goals. A concept. Something about them and the way they looked at life caught my attention.

I soon began to wonder, as I am sure many of us do, am I most like Carrie? Samantha? Charlotte? Miranda? Slowly identifying my personal goals in TV characters. Then it hit me. I want to have qualities from each of them. In some weird way, watching this show has taught me more about what I want out of life than any academic advisor or college professor could (sorry mom). I could list exactly what I am thinking right now, but better yet, here are my all - time favorite Sex and the City quotes to live by (if you want)....

"I like my money where I can see it – hanging in my closet." - Carrie

"Maybe we can be each other’s soul mates. And then we can let men be just these great, nice guys to have fun with." - Charlotte

"Being single used to mean that nobody wanted you. Now it means you’re pretty sexy and you’re taking your time deciding how you want your life to be and who you want to spend it with." - Carrie

"After all, seasons change, so do cities; people come into your life and people go. But it’s comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you’re very lucky, a plane ride away." - Carrie

"Sexy is what I try to get them to see me as after I win them over with my personality." - Miranda

Until Next Time... Caylie
